...The record for most golds (six) and most medals (eight - he also won two bronzes) is held by Germany's Reiner Klimke, who dominated the dressage scene between 1964-88. The Germans also completed the only equestrian 'clean-sweep' in the history of the Olympics in 1936. The most successful horse was the Soviets' Absent, who was ridden to four medals (a gold, a silver and two bronzes) over three different Games - 1960, 1964 and 1968. ...

key mount on the US Olympic dressage squad becomes question mark for Athens
...In dressage, Lisa Wilcox, a member of the 2002 World Equestrian Games dressage silver medal team with the highly regarded Relevant, did not ride that stallion at Aachen as planned because he is still regaining fitness after an injury. The U.S. team at Aachen earned 212.167 percent to finish third, behind perennial power Germany (220.958) and Holland (216.876). Debbie McDonald on Brentina (74.167 percent) was fourth individually in her first competition since March. Relevant's last chance to make the team will be in the Lingen, Germany, show next weekend ..
