USDF Congratulates New Certified Dressage Instructors
The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) is proud to recognize nine individuals for achieving USDF Certified Instructor status at the USDF certification testing sessions held at Riverside Equestrian Center, CA, November 5-7, 2004, and at Averett University Equestrian Center, NC, November 19-21, 2004. The Instructor Education program is designed to educate dressage riders, instructors, and aspiring instructors. It is also a wonderful learning opportunity for all students of dressage to improve their practical skills and for more advanced students to integrate classical theory and its correct application with solid practical skills.

Silent auction offers top sires
There are some exciting sires on offer in this year's Supporters of British Breeding fund-raising silent auction of stallion nominations. Broodmare owners should be spoiled for choice, with established and young sires on offer from the three major disciplines. One of two eventing representatives is Sue Bunn's Viceroy II. The 15-year-old son of the international show jumper VIP out of a Sagaro mare won Blenheim last year for Pippa Funnell. Ulla 'Down Under' - Ulla Salzgeber gives 3 Clinics

Ulla 'Down Under' - Ulla Salzgeber gives 3 Clinics
Australia's many dressage enthusiasts were thrilled to learn that one of the most respected and popular heroines of the sport would be visiting to conduct three clinics with our elite riders and that this may lead to Ulla agreeing to become more involved in the advancement of the sport.  Ulla's trip was arranged by Deborah McNicol, the Chairperson of the EFA's National Dressage Sub-Committee.  When I asked Deb was this to be the first of more visits,  said that we must just take first things first and recognise that no firm plans for the future have been made.   Deb said that  Ulla had agreed to come here and give three clinics - one in Victoria, then in NSW and on to Queensland where the country's 'elite' riders have been invited to work with Ulla for 3 days, and from here Ulla will consider if .... and how ... she would like to work with Australian riders.

Gaited horses and Dressage! No way

Gaited horses and Dressage! No way
Who would have thought a gaited horse could do dressage. At Delta Dressage we've discussed the possibilities, did some research and found that Gaited Horse Dressage is alive and well. Currently the National Walking Horse Association includes dressage tests Introductory through First Level in it's Versatility class. Delta Dressage is inviting the flat shod gaited horse community including Standardbreds, Paso Finos, Tennessee Walking horses and other gaited breeds that perform a running walk instead of the traditional trot to DDA by introducing the Gaited Horse Division in it's 2005 calendar of classes.

Dovers never tire of dressage

Dovers never tire of dressage
... After flying halfway around the world to watch Robert Dover compete in his sixth Olympics in Athens, his parents have only a 45-minute drive from their home to watch the dressage. "It was his big dream to have us at the Olympics, and did we ever enjoy it," said Jean Dover, 77, who lives with her husband of 57 years in Hollywood. "I still get nervous; he's my baby. I don't want him to have his feelings hurt by us not being there."...

New FEI Corporate Identity

New FEI Corporate Identity
The FEI has evolved greatly over the last few years. It has become a more global organisation and has demonstrated a firm will to involve all stakeholders of equestrian sport in its actions. In the dynamic context of today's sport scene, where brands are being created not only to attract spectators and participants but to also meet commercial targets, a strong and recognisable brand has become a key element to ensure both the competitive development of the sport and its revenue.
