World Cup in dressage goes to rider and local horse
... Anky van Grunsven of the Netherlands defended her world champion dressage title April 23 at the FEI Offield Farms World Cup in Las Vegas, earning the highest score ever recorded in her division. t was her seventh World Cup win and her second aboard Salinero, an 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding. Salinero is part-owned by Tess Dempsey, daughter of local horsewoman Connie Dempsey. Tess Dempsey bought the horse several years ago in Germany. But, recognizing his talent, she wanted him to be shown by one of the world’s best riders. So she sold half-interest in him to van Grunsven...

Antony Injured and will not compete
At breakfast this morning Isabell Werth told Ulla that due to a minor injury Antony will not compete in the World Cup in Las Vegas. More on World Cup to follow.

Federation opposes Olympic move to Hong Kong
The relocation of Olympic equestrian events from Beijing to Hong Kong was presented as a virtual fait accompli during yesterday's final session of the General Assembly of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) at London's Grange City Hotel. This was the first time that the move had been put forward as a serious proposition. Not surprisingly, it went down like a lead balloon among the 90 delegates attending...
